7 Ways To Grow A Successful Facebook Page
7 Ways To Grow A Successful Facebook Page
One of the best things that you can do for your brand/business is to become a Social Media master. There are tricks of the trade, and we will discuss them on this blog further in future posts. In this post, I am going to discuss 7 of the best ways to grow a successful Facebook page.
One of the best things about Social Media, in general, is the ability to interact with your community with ease. Never before has it been so easy to communicate and get in touch with people that consume your content. Take advantage of this in every way you can.
1. Remember The 80-20 Rule
80 percent of your posts should be “Social” and fun, and then 20 percent of your posts can be about your products and services. One of the most annoying things you can do as a brand on Facebook is to inundate people every day with your products and services. Do not push your business down their throat. Build the brand awareness and trust by posting fun social posts about your industry and things related to what you do.
2. Stick To A Schedule
As a Facebook page manager, the worst thing you can do — especially in the beginning — is post sporadically. As with most content online you will want to setup a schedule that your audience knows about. By providing your Facebook fans with the time and days you post, it will leave them waiting to consume your content on that day, and sometimes even call you out when there isn’t a post!
Utilize the schedule post feature in Facebook. Spend an hour or to one day setting up your posts for the following week. Just make sure when you posts go live to spend some time interacting with the community.
A posting schedule is important for a successful Facebook page. Just decide what & when you’re going to post — and then make sure you stick to it.
3. Add A Like Box Or Button To Your Website
What better way to gain an initial audience on Facebook than to utilize the people you already have spending on your site. You know they already have an interest in what you are doing because they consume your content on your site. These people are what I call “Super Fans”, and can be the catalyst that begins your growth on Facebook.
This way people spending time on your website are only one click away from your fan on Facebook. Also, they don’t have to leave your site to go on Facebook. They just have to click the Like button. Another benefit to this is that the plugin for the like button on your page will display people who already like your page. People will be more inclined to click the like button if they see their friends already have.
4. Link to your Facebook Page In Your Email Signature and Other Public Profiles
With email being the primary form of communication, and the list of forums and public profiles that we are a part of is growing each year, what better way to build your Facebook community than put it in all of your signatures and profile bios.
Adding a link to your email signature will allow people who you are communicating with on a daily basis to click and be directed to your Facebook page. This one is a no-brainer in the fact that you will be sending emails out daily, and the ability to have a direct link to your Facebook Page is fantastic.
It’s relatively simple to create a link within your custom email signature by typing in “Your Facebook Page” and then creating a link out of it. If you wanted to go a little more professional, you could use a tool like WiseStamp that can do that for you. This method applies to weekly newsletters or any other form of weekly/monthly communication you have with your audience. Anywhere you can put your Facebook link do it.
5. Interact On Facebook Groups
There are groups of people that are on Facebook in “Facebook Groups” all about topics that relate to your business/brand. What better way to grow your Facebook following than to seek those groups out and start posting and answering questions within those groups as your Facebook Page.
It is also well-known that Facebook groups have much better organic reach than Facebook Pages, allowing you to reach a larger audience easier.
Another reason is the fact that people are more active and engaged in Facebook groups. They interact more with the content being posted on groups, which is a signal for Facebook to show those people more related content. So the strategy here would be to find and join groups in your niche and start commenting and adding value to others in the group. By doing this, you are also getting your name out there to people already interested in your niche.
6. Add Social Buttons To Your Blog Posts
This should go without saying, but with each blog entry and website page you release, you should be putting social sharing buttons like the ones above. This makes it easier for your visitors to share your content on their favorite social network which most likely includes Facebook.
There are many plugins to help you add these buttons; my favorite is Shareaholic. If you are trying to grow a successful Facebook page, you need some sharing buttons on your site/blog.
What I like to do is test different positions for my sharing buttons and see which one works best. A lot of the plugins offer features where the buttons float and stay visible throughout the entire post.
7. Respond Quickly
You want your customers and fans to know you care. Try replying to all inquiries on your Facebook page within an hour, even if it’s just a quick response letting them know you have received their message and are working on it. Facebook now has the feature to setup an autoresponder when someone messages you that sends a quick message letting the person know you will be with them shortly.
In Closing
Growing a successful Facebook page is not as easy as it use to be, but with these tips and staying consistent it can be done quickly. The worst thing you can do is try and get fake fans to inflate your numbers that don’t engage with your content and end up doing more harm than good. You need a raving fan base that is dying to consume your content each and every week.
